Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2025 - 2026 school year at River Road lSD. The first day of school was so energetic and exceptional!

As in past years, we face challenges that require your help in overcoming them. More parent involvement and volunteerism are always at the forefront of our needs. We offer numerous opportunities for parents to be involved in the day-to-day operations of our four campuses. Parents interested in volunteering or substitute teaching should contact a building principal or my office to inquire.

Our Booster Club and PTOs are in dire need of help and support. We are able to do many things because parents show up and help, but that help has been waning over the last couple of years. Whether it is working in the concession stands at ball games or assisting teachers in the classrooms, our Booster Club and PTOs can only be as strong as those who show up and support.

The 89th legislative session has come and gone. Public schools received a much-needed boost in funding, along with several new rules and regulations to implement. Whether you agree with the "Cell Phone Bill" or not, it is now the law of the land, and we need your support to help students make the right decisions when it comes to "Off and Away During the Day."

At River Road, we are still committed to making this year the best by:

  • Taking academics to the next level. Our campuses continue to face academic challenges, so it is essential that parents and teachers collaborate in helping our students reach the next level. We want and need community members and parents to take a more active role in the education of our students.
  • ParentSquare is the new form of communication in the district, and it will help us to improve communication and relationship building with all of our stakeholders. We need to raise the bar and keep parents and community members informed about the needs, events, and issues affecting our students and community.
  • Increasing opportunities for students to get involved and be a part of something on a higher level. We have many students involved in many activities and sports. We want to ensure that all our students have the opportunity to participate in one of our many clubs, sports, and organizations, and are encouraged to join.

Again, I am excited to see what this year brings us. Thank you for entrusting your children to us for education. We know you have a choice and are choosing to entrust our district with the future of your most precious blessing(s). We are ready to meet the challenges ahead, and with your help, we will have a very successful year.

It’s A Great Day to be a Wildcat!!
