Shattered Dreams Program 4/30/2026
Public Service Announcement
River Road High School will be conducting the Shattered Dreams Program on Thursday, April 30, 2026. This program is designed to educate students about the dangers and real-life consequences of impaired and distracted driving.
As part of the program, there will be a mock crash scene involving students, emergency responders, and law enforcement. The scene will include emergency vehicles and may appear very realistic to those passing by.
Please be advised that this is a staged educational event. Local law enforcement, fire, and EMS personnel are fully aware of the exercise and will already be on scene, so there is no need to contact emergency services if you see activity in the area.
Due to the simulation, Mobley Street and Tower Street (100 & 200 blocks) will be temporarily closed from approximately 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM on April 30 while the program is taking place.
Residents and community members may notice emergency vehicles, personnel, and a staged accident scene during this time. Traffic will be redirected around the area.
The Shattered Dreams Program is an impactful educational initiative that helps students understand the serious consequences that impaired or distracted driving can have on individuals, families, and the community.
We appreciate the community’s understanding and cooperation as River Road High School works to provide this important learning experience for our students.
