Free Meal Program Details

We are happy to announce that the district has been approved by the Texas Department of Agriculture to extend our Summer Feeding Program through the end of the school year! We are excited about this opportunity as we know many are experiencing difficult times. RRISD is thankful to be able to assist our students and families in any way we can.

What does this mean?

All students and community children aged zero to eighteen beginning November 2nd, 2020 are eligible for Free Meal Benefits at School.

ON-CAMPUS STUDENTS:

Students attending school in person will eat at regularly scheduled mealtimes and use their student ID number as identification.

Only one breakfast and one lunch are allowed free of charge per child per day.

OFF-CAMPUS STUDENTS:

For those students and children not attending school or not currently on campus, there is an order form on our website for parents to request meals. You can also access the form HERE.

Meal Pick-Up will ONLY be at 2 campuses, Rolling Hills Elementary and Willow Vista Early Childhood Academy. Pick-up time at RH is 10:15-10:45, WV 1:00-1:30. Breakfast and Lunch will be given at the same time. The first time you come to pick up meals we will need to see one of these documents for each child requesting a meal:

1.            Official letter/email/electronic school application from school listing children enrolled.

2.            Individual Report Card.

3.            Attendance record from parent portal of the school website, printed or electronic, that

               includes child’s names.

4.            Birth certificates for children not in school.

5.            Student ID.

We only need to verify the children in your family one time. If you are unable to produce one of these documents, we will verify your student’s enrollment/work with you to get some form of ID. Please know that we will not turn anyone away! We want no child to go hungry!

If you have any questions about the meal program, how it will work, or how to order pick-up meals please email Kim Terry, Food Service Director at kim.terry@rrisd.net.
