What is iTEKStar?

An electronic lesson planner that

provides Texas educators with the capability to create lessons or copy and modify existing iTEKStar lessons to meet the learning needs of the students in their classroom and districts the ability to create and develop courses based on the needs of the district/campus.

provides sample lessons written by Texas master teachers throughout the state incorporating TEKS-based curriculum and instructional strategies for the core courses in grades K-12.

has the capability to track when and the number of times a lesson has been correlated to specific TEKS and any other TAKS or EOC objectives.

How can I get iTEKStar?

iTEKStar is available on-line through the RRISD service contract agreement with Region 16 ESC for the 2005-2006 school year.

Training is currently being provided to all campuses by teams or grade levels or by appointment.

User manuals are available on-line and in campus libraries and through department heads/lead teachers

The Education Service Center Curriculum Cooperative receives, evaluates and purchases lessons that are original and free of copyright limitation. Educators interested in developing lessons for publication must have access to the program, input the lessons into the iTEKStar lesson template and submit the lessons. Detailed instructions are found in the User’s Guide Chapter 5, page 9.
